October is the perfect month for some Stephen King.

Beginning October 5, Page Chewing will be reading Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, with new podcast episodes releasing throughout the month as we work our way through one of King’s most unsettling novels.

We’ll be reading the book in manageable sections and discussing the characters, themes, imagery, questions, and increasingly dark journey along the way. Whether you’ve read Pet Sematary before or you’re experiencing it for the first time, you’re invited to read along.

On Halloween, October 31, I’ll be joined by a special guest for a full, spoiler-filled discussion of Pet Sematary. We’ll look back at the entire novel, dig into its treatment of grief, death, family, fear, and the choices its characters make, and discuss what makes this story so enduringly disturbing.
